What Desert Adventures Can You Book in Dubai?

Six adventures, one desert operator: camel rides, desert safaris, dune buggies, quad bikes, hot air balloon flights and dirt biking, all booked through Camel Desert Safari Dubai. Camel rides and desert safaris are the anchor of the brand, the two experiences our name is built around. The other four add speed, height or extra ground to cover, on those same dunes.

Start with the animal that gave us our name. Our camel ride tours run two ways: 15 to 20 minutes across Lahbab’s red dunes for AED 150 with a trained handler and photo stops, or a walk-up ride on JBR Beach for AED 300 if a desert transfer doesn’t suit your schedule. Riders with some horse experience will also find an AED 575 horse riding session on the same page.

Our desert safari packages are the other anchor; every one includes hotel pickup and drop-off. The Morning Desert Safari covers 25 to 30 minutes of dune bashing plus sandboarding and a camel ride, from AED 225 per person. Most guests book the Evening Desert Safari with BBQ Dinner instead, AED 375 per person, adding a 30 minute ATV quad ride, henna painting, a BBQ buffet and a camp show with belly dance, fire and Tanoura performances. A private version runs AED 1,400 per car for up to six, with your own vehicle and guide.

Prefer to drive? Our dune buggy tours start from AED 600 for a 2 seater 1000cc buggy on a 30 minute session, AED 800 for the family-favourite 4 seater, or AED 999 for the Can-Am Maverick X3, the fleet’s most aggressive machine. Self-drive needs a valid licence on the day; ride as a passenger and that requirement disappears. Quad biking skips it altogether, no licence needed for any rider, from AED 200 for a beginner-friendly COBRA up to AED 350 for the Yamaha Grizzly on longer circuits.

Camel rides, desert safaris, dune buggies and quad biking also run in Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah, quoted once we know your hotel distance and return timing rather than fixed to one flat rate. For a different kind of view, our hot air balloon flights are timed for sunrise, from AED 1,049 for the Standard package with unlimited drinks and a flight certificate, up to AED 1,399 for the Premium package, which adds a full morning safari with dune bashing and a quad bike. Dirt biking rounds out the lineup from AED 795.

Pick by mood, not by list: camels and safaris if you want to sit back, buggies and quads if you want to drive, and the balloon if you’d rather float above the whole desert.

How Much Does a Camel Ride Cost in Dubai?

A camel ride in Dubai costs AED 150 for the Camel Ride Experience In Dubai Desert, a 15 to 20 minute guided ride across Lahbab’s red dunes with a trained handler, mounting help and photo stops along the way. It’s a good match for couples, families with kids, photographers and first-time riders, since the handler support and unhurried pace keep it comfortable even if you have never sat on a camel before.

The Camel Ride Experience On JBR Beach, priced at AED 300, is a different kind of convenience. It’s a walk-up ride, 15 to 25 minutes long, with no desert transfer needed. You simply show up on the beach. That makes it the better fit for anyone staying in Dubai Marina or JBR, or for visitors with only a day or two in the city who still want the camel-riding experience without giving up a morning to a desert trip. The higher price reflects the beachfront location and the time you save, not a longer ride.

Full timings and what to expect on the day for both packages are on our camel ride page. If a desert safari is already on your itinerary, it is also possible to combine it with the camel ride as a package from AED 299.

The camel ride page also lists a Horse Riding Experience In Dubai Desert, priced at AED 575 for 15 to 25 minutes. It’s a separate experience with a different skill requirement, not a variation of the camel ride, and it suits riders who already have some horse riding background rather than someone trying it for the first time. If you’ve never ridden before, the camel packages above are the ones built for that, with a handler alongside you the whole way.

How Much Does a Desert Safari Cost, and What’s Included?

A Dubai desert safari with us costs AED 225 per person for the Morning package, AED 375 per person for the Evening package with BBQ dinner and entertainment, or AED 1,400 per vehicle for up to 6 people on the private evening tour. All three include hotel pickup and drop-off, and the price mostly reflects what happens after the dune bashing stops: a short sunrise loop, a full evening at camp, or that same evening booked privately for your group alone.

The Morning Desert Safari With Land Cruiser 4x4 is the simplest of the three, and that simplicity is the point. For AED 225 per person you get 25 to 30 minutes of dune bashing, sandboarding, a camel ride, cold drinks and sunrise views over the red dunes, with pickup between 8:30 and 9:00 AM and drop-off by 12:00 to 12:30 PM. It suits guests who want the adrenaline and the scenery without giving up a full day, and it is the package families with an afternoon flight or a packed itinerary tend to book.

The Evening Desert Safari with BBQ Dinner is our most-booked package at AED 375 per person, and it earns that spot by turning the same dune bashing and camel ride into a full night out. On top of the drive and the 30-minute ATV quad bike run, you get henna painting, an international BBQ buffet dinner, and a proper show at camp: belly dance, a fire show and a Tanoura performance under a full light and sound setup. It is built for guests who want one evening that covers the adventure, the culture and the dinner in a single booking.

For groups that want the same evening without sharing a vehicle or a schedule with other guests, the Private Evening Desert Safari With BBQ Dinner puts a dedicated Land Cruiser 4x4 and guide at AED 1,400 per car for up to 6 people. Pickup runs 2:45 to 3:30 PM and drop-off is 9:30 to 9:45 PM, and everything else at camp mirrors the shared evening tour, just on your own timing.

Every quote is confirmed in writing before you pay anything. Message us on WhatsApp with your dates, group size and pickup hotel, or fill in the enquiry form on any package page, which hands off to WhatsApp with your details already filled in. Our team replies during business hours with the recommended tour, pickup time and exact total, no bait pricing.

If a camel ride is already on your list, it is worth pairing it with your safari. The Camel Ride + Desert Safari combo starts from AED 299 per person, which is often the simplest way to book both in one go.

How Much Does a Dune Buggy Rental Cost in Dubai?

Dune buggy rental in Dubai runs from AED 600 to AED 999, priced per vehicle for a 30-minute session, not per person. A 2-seater is AED 600, a 4-seater built for families is AED 800, and the Can-Am Maverick X3 tops the range at AED 999. Whether you need a licence comes down to one thing: driving yourself, or riding along with a guide.

The three packages cover a clear range of experience levels. The 2 Seater Dune Buggy 1000cc at AED 600 is the straightforward entry point for two people wanting a first taste of dune driving. The 4 Seater Dune Buggy 1000cc at AED 800 is the family favourite, built to carry four across the same red dunes without splitting the group into two vehicles. The 2 Seater Can-Am Maverick X3 at AED 999 is the most aggressive machine in the fleet, a step up in power aimed at experienced drivers who want more machine under them.

Because the price is set per buggy and not per rider, the real cost per person depends on how your group divides across vehicles. Two people sharing the 2-seater split AED 600 between them. A family of four in the 4-seater pays AED 800 for the whole group, which works out lower per head than the 2-seater once you divide it out. That is a different pricing logic to some Dubai tours that charge per person, so it is worth checking which model applies before you compare prices.

The detail that matters most before booking is who takes the wheel. Self-drive sessions require a valid driving licence, either international or UAE-issued, shown on the day. Guided sessions, where you ride as a passenger while a guide drives, do not require a licence at all. That makes the guided option the practical choice for anyone travelling without a licence that is valid in the UAE, or for riders who would rather experience the dunes without driving themselves.

All three packages include a helmet, goggles, a safety briefing and a desert guide as standard, so the jump from AED 600 to AED 999 reflects seating capacity and engine performance rather than what is included with the session. Full details on all three buggies, along with photos and the booking form, are on our dune buggy tours page.

Booking works the same way across our tours. Message us on WhatsApp with your date, group size and whether you want to drive or ride along, and we will confirm the right buggy for your group along with the exact total in writing before any payment is taken.

How Much Does Quad Biking Cost in Dubai?

Quad biking in Dubai costs AED 200 to AED 350 per bike, not per person. Three machines sit on our quad biking page in that range, and the right one for you comes down to riding experience and rider weight more than budget. Every booking includes a helmet, goggles, a safety briefing and guide support out on the dunes, whichever bike you choose.

The COBRA Single Seater Quad Bike is AED 200 and it’s where we start most first-timers. Handling is easy to pick up even if you’ve never sat on a quad before. That’s what makes it the right call for lighter adults riding for the first time, and for kids riding under adult supervision.

Move up to the Single Seater Quad Bike at AED 250 once you’ve got some confidence behind you. It carries more torque than the COBRA, so it rewards a rider who already knows how to control a bike and wants more pull crossing the dunes. Confident riders and repeat guests tend to book this one over the entry-level machine.

At AED 350, the Yamaha Grizzly Quad Bike sits at the top of the range. It’s the most stable platform we run and carries the strongest engine, so we point experienced and heavier riders toward it, especially for a longer circuit through the dunes rather than a short first ride.

None of the three bikes need a driving licence. Quad biking runs as a guided activity with guide support built into every booking, which is different from self-drive dune buggy tours, where the driver needs a valid international or UAE licence. If you’re building a bigger desert day around it, quad biking also comes as a combo with a desert safari, from AED 425. To book, message us on WhatsApp with your dates, group size, pickup zone and which bike you want; we confirm the pickup time and exact total in writing before anything is charged.

What Does a Hot Air Balloon Flight Over Dubai Cost?

A hot air balloon flight over Dubai runs from AED 1,049 to AED 1,399 per person, depending on how much happens after you land. All three packages put you in the air at sunrise from the same early hotel pickup window. What changes as the price climbs is what’s waiting for you at the Bedouin camp once you touch down, not the flight itself.

Think of each step up as buying a longer, fuller morning at the camp rather than a different balloon ride. The Standard Package, AED 1,049, covers the sunrise flight itself: unlimited drinks, coffee and water, plus a flight certificate to take home as a keepsake. Pickup falls between 3:45 and 4:30 AM so the balloon can launch with first light, and you’re back at your hotel by 8:00-9:00 AM, in time for the rest of your day. Full inclusions are on our hot air balloon page.

Step up to Deluxe, AED 1,149, and the same sunrise flight is followed by a camel ride, a falconry display and a gourmet breakfast at the Bedouin camp, so breakfast happens in the desert rather than back at the hotel. Drop-off moves to 9:30-10:00 AM to allow time at camp.

Premium tops the range at AED 1,399. It keeps every Deluxe inclusion, camel ride, falconry and breakfast, then adds a full morning desert safari with dune bashing and a quad bike session on top. That’s the longest morning of the three, with drop-off between 10:15 and 11:00 AM.

Hotel pickup is included in all three packages, across Dubai Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah, Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, Bur Dubai and Deira alike. Message our team on WhatsApp with your travel dates, group size and pickup hotel, or use the enquiry form on the balloon page. Either way, we reply with the recommended package, the exact pickup time and the full per-person total in writing before you pay anything.

Do You Offer Tours in Abu Dhabi or Ras Al Khaimah?

Yes, we run camel rides, desert safaris, dune buggy drives and quad biking in both Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah, but we don’t list a fixed AED price on those pages the way we do for Dubai. Pricing there is quote-only, built around your actual hotel, travel dates and group size. That’s not us being vague. It’s the only honest way to price a route that can look completely different from one guest to the next.

A single public price for Abu Dhabi or Ras Al Khaimah would have to be built around a worst case: the longest pickup, the biggest vehicle, the latest return. Publish that number and a guest staying five minutes from the desert edge pays for distance they never travelled. Price it around the easiest route instead, and the next guest gets a surprise surcharge once their real hotel address comes in. Dubai avoids this because our pickup zones sit close together (Dubai Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah, Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, Bur Dubai and Deira), so one price covers every guest inside them. Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah don’t have that consistency, so we quote each trip on its own numbers instead of rounding everyone up or down.

This is not a bait-and-switch tactic. Whether you book a Dubai package straight off the page or ask us for an Abu Dhabi or Ras Al Khaimah quote, the process ends the same way: our team replies during business hours with the recommended tour, your pickup time and the exact total in writing, before you pay anything.

To get a quote, send us four things: the hotel you’re staying at (or the area, if you haven’t booked yet), your travel dates, your group size and the activity you want, camel ride, desert safari, dune buggy or quad biking. With those details we can work out the pickup time, the drive length and the exact price in one message.

WhatsApp is the fastest way to reach us: +971 52 440 9525. You can also call +971 50 496 8087, or use the enquiry form on any package page. Either way, you get a real, guest-specific price before you decide anything, the same as every Dubai booking.

How Does Booking and Cancellation Work?

Every Camel Desert Safari Dubai booking starts on WhatsApp, at +971 52 440 9525. You share your dates, group size and pickup hotel there, or start from the enquiry form on any package page, which forwards those same details straight to WhatsApp, and the team replies during business hours with the recommended tour, your pickup time and the exact total in writing before you owe anything. Cancellation fees then scale with notice given: none if you cancel 96 hours or more ahead, 50% at 72 hours or more, and the full 100% under 24 hours, on the day, or as a no-show.

That system works the same way for every package, whether you’re asking about the camel ride experience or an evening desert safari, and it holds regardless of which pickup zone you’re in, be it Dubai Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah or Downtown Dubai. The number you get in writing is the number you pay, no bait pricing where a low headline figure grows once you’re already committed. Prefer to talk it through before messaging? Call +971 50 496 8087 or email [email protected] from the Marina Plaza office in Dubai Marina.

Cancellation fees scale with notice, and the percentages are worth stating exactly rather than rounding them off. Cancel 96 hours or more before your tour and there’s no fee at all. Cancel with 72 hours or more notice and a 50% cancellation fee applies. Cancel with under 24 hours’ notice, on the same day, or as a no-show, and the fee is 100% of the tour cost.

Rescheduling follows a similar logic. Move your date 96 hours or more ahead of time and it’s free, subject to availability. With 72 hours or more notice, a new date is still subject to availability, and a substantial change may carry a small AED 50 to 100 admin fee. Under 24 hours, rescheduling generally isn’t possible, except for genuine emergencies such as a medical issue, a flight delay or severe weather, which the team looks at case by case.

Full terms, including the reschedule fees above, are on the cancellation policy page, worth reading before you lock in your dates and pickup hotel over WhatsApp. The same notice windows apply across every tour under this operator, camel ride, desert safari or otherwise, not a different policy for each one.

Quick Answers to Common Questions

Do I need a driving licence for a dune buggy or quad bike in Dubai?
Self-drive dune buggies need a valid driving licence, international or UAE, shown on the day. Guided buggy tours where you ride as a passenger do not require one. Quad biking never requires a licence, on any of our three machines.
How much does a desert safari cost in Dubai?
From AED 225 per person for the Morning Desert Safari, AED 375 per person for the most-booked Evening Desert Safari with BBQ Dinner, or AED 1,400 per car for a Private Evening Desert Safari for up to 6 people. All three include hotel pickup and drop-off.
What’s the difference between the desert safari packages?
Morning is the shortest and simplest: dune bashing, sandboarding and a camel ride before the heat. Evening is our most-booked package, adding a 30 minute ATV quad ride, henna, an international BBQ buffet and a camp show with belly dance, fire and Tanoura performances. Private books the same evening experience in your own vehicle with a dedicated guide.
What’s included in the Standard, Deluxe and Premium hot air balloon packages?
Standard (AED 1,049) covers the sunrise flight, drinks and a flight certificate. Deluxe (AED 1,149) adds a camel ride, falconry and a gourmet breakfast at the Bedouin camp. Premium (AED 1,399) adds a full morning desert safari with dune bashing and a quad bike on top of the Deluxe inclusions.
Is a dune buggy priced per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle, for a 30 minute session. A 2 seater is AED 600, a 4 seater is AED 800, and the Can-Am Maverick X3 is AED 999, split between however many riders share the buggy.
Do you offer tours in Abu Dhabi or Ras Al Khaimah?
Yes. Camel rides, desert safaris, dune buggy and quad biking all run in Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah, but pricing there is quote-only rather than a fixed AED figure, since hotel distance and return timing vary too much for one flat rate. Send us your hotel, dates and group size and we’ll reply with a written quote.
What’s your cancellation policy?
No fee if you cancel 96 hours or more before your tour. A 50% fee applies at 72 hours or more. Under 24 hours, on the day, or as a no-show, the full 100% fee applies. Full terms are on our cancellation policy page.
Can I reschedule my booking instead of cancelling?
Yes. Rescheduling 96 hours or more ahead is free, subject to availability. With 72 hours or more notice a small AED 50 to 100 admin fee may apply for a substantial date change. Under 24 hours, rescheduling generally isn’t possible except for genuine emergencies, handled case by case.
How do I book a tour with Camel Desert Safari Dubai?
Message us on WhatsApp at +971 52 440 9525 with your dates, group size and pickup hotel, or use the enquiry form on any tour page, which hands your details straight to WhatsApp. We reply during business hours with the recommended tour, pickup time and exact total in writing before you pay anything.

Quick answers before you message

Common questions guests ask before booking. Real answers from our team.

Which tour should I book first?
If this is a first Dubai trip and you have one evening, book the desert safari - it bundles transfer, dune scenery, BBQ and shows. If you want a calm photo, choose the camel ride. If you want adrenaline, dune buggy or quad.
Do you have hotel pickup?
Yes. Pickup is included from Dubai Marina, JBR, Downtown, Business Bay, Palm Jumeirah, Bur Dubai and Deira. Distant addresses may have a small surcharge - we tell you upfront.
Are the prices on this page final?
AED prices are visible starting points where the data is verified. Final total depends on group size, pickup zone, season and any add-ons. We confirm the exact total in writing before any payment.
How fast do you reply on WhatsApp?
Usually under 30 minutes during Dubai business hours (9 AM - 9 PM). Outside business hours messages are answered first thing the next working day.
Can you handle dietary or accessibility requests?
Yes. Vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free, allergies, and mobility considerations are routine with 24 hours notice. Send the list when you message us.
Do you operate in Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah?
Yes - quote-only for those emirates because pickup distance and route options vary. Send your hotel and dates and we will price the transfer.
